I bought this peeler several years ago, but am looking at it now to buy a second. (Our current one is missing and having 2 good peelers is not a bad idea.) We also have an Oxo peeler that takes off far too much of a carrot. It might be better for something with a tougher skin, but usually we use a peeler for carrots and this one is much better. I've also had success using it on potatoes. I've been frustrated with enough bad peelers to come back and get a second one of these.
